Seattle Day Trips is a community effort and your contribution is valued. If you would like to contribute an entry to the site, you are welcome to do so. Follow this link to register, and provide your alias and a valid email address. Your temporary password will be emailed to you immediately. Once you receive it, log in, write your entry, and save it as a draft. Once I have had a chance to review it we will post it to the site. After you have had an entry reviewed and posted, I will upgrade your account so that you will be able to bypass the draft and post directly to the site for future entries.

Here are some tips and guidelines to help you make your entry:

• Include as many helpful links as you can in your entry. Links to Google Maps, or the official site of your destination(s) make this site more useful for all of us.
• You are welcome to post about a destination that has already been posted about. The different perspective that comes from each contributor is one of the unique benefits of a site like this.
• At this time, I don’t provide a way to host your pictures. If you aren’t already using it, I suggest Flickr, which makes it very easy to upload and link to your photos.
• You are welcome to post trips you have done in the past. However, please adjust the date on your post to the date of your daytrip, not the day you are making the entry. The daytrip will still be easily searchable through the archive and the categories even though it might not appear as one of the most recent entries on the front page. It will also be posted to the RSS feed.
• Please use your best discretion when choosing categories for your daytrip. You can choose multiple categories, so choose at least one for both the type of the daytrip, and the length. If you would like to suggest other categories that aren’t currently available, please leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
• The intent of this site is for private parties to post their experiences. Please do not use it to advertise some service or destination that you own or are affiliated with.
• If you have a blog, I would be happy to include a link to in on the front page after you have had three or more entries posted. Please send me an email and let me know your blog address.
